Why haven't any of my pitches been accepted?

If you've been pitching on lots of projects on Twine, but haven't been accepted on any yet, you may be starting to get a little frustrated. But, don't give up just yet. There may be a reason why your pitches are being overlooked and there are some simple steps you can take to avoid this:

1. Make an awesome portfolio.
Buyers will look at your Twine portfolio to help them decide who to choose for their project. So, it needs to be full of your best work and demonstrate your best skills. You should add a great profile picture, cover image and a bio that explains who you are and what you do. If your portfolio pictures are blank, buyers may think you're inactive or untrustworthy.

2. Write great pitches
The secret to getting accepted on projects is writing a killer pitch. Your pitch needs to be tailored to each individual project, and you really need to explain how your skills are right for the project. Buyers can tell copy and pasted pitches. Read our guide to writing the perfect pitch for more information.

3. Are you pitching on the right project?
Many freelancers' approach is to pitch on as many projects as possible and see who gets back to them. But this might actually be causing more harm than good. Are you sure you're pitching on the right projects that are actually suitable for your skills? It's better to spend more time crafting really good pitches for the few projects that are a perfect match for you than hoping you'll be accepted by pitching on everything.
